Shared Persistence

Since the Engine loads connectors (and DSNs) from local resources, it is important to install the GeoAnalytics connector to all nodes with an Engine service active or the GeoAnalytics Connector may not function properly.

Qlik GeoAnalytics Plus

Home:
   C:\Program Files\Common Files\QlikTech\Custom Data\QvIdevioConnector (QV)
   C:\Program Files\Common Files\Qlik\Custom Data\QvIdevioConnector (Sense)

Logs: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\GeoAnalyticsPlus\logs\GeoAnalyticsPlus.log

Checks license at https://floatinglicenses.qlikcloud.com

Qlik GeoAnalytics Server

Home: C:\ProgramData\Qlik GeoAnalytics Server\server3\

Logs: C:\ProgramData\Qlik GeoAnalytics Server\server3\logs.

Port 80 for http and port 443 for https, can be changed during installation.

URLs

The following urls are needed, QGA Extensions: https://maps.qlikcloud.com

License activation, ports 80 and 4747 to lef1|2|3.qliktech.com,

QGA Server can be activated without internet connection.

The QGA connector: https://ga.qlikcloud.com

QGA Plus: https://route.qlikcloud.com‌, https://geocode.qlikcloud.com, https://floatinglicenses.qlikcloud.com

Note! The connection for the extensions are from the client web browser to the map server. The connection from the QGA connector are from the Sense server (like all connectors) to the map server.

Hi Ashwin,

Yes, many customers do.

To be completely on premise the QGA Enterprise Server is needed.

Thanks,

Patric

Hi Patric,

Who needs to have the URL access? the Qlik Sense server or the clients endpoint or both?

Thanks

To the QGA Server?

QGA extensions: the client. Extensions access the map server directly.

QGA connector, the QV/QS server. The connector runs on the QV/QS server and accesses the map server.

Thanks,

Patric

Hi Patric,

One of our customer has a proxy server for internet access. They want to add urls for QGA.

Can you share with us these URL ?

I guess the following are not working anymore or we can not get access.

https://maps.qlikcloud.com

https://ga.qlikcloud.com

https://route.qlikcloud.com

https://geocode.qlikcloud.com

Hi,

The urls are correct.

Direct browser call to root page won't return anything in the browser.

To test connection you can use the following (all should return 'ok'):

https://maps.qlikcloud.com/ravegeo/status

https://ga.qlikcloud.com/ravegeo/status

https://geocode.qlikcloud.com/ravegeo/status

https://geocode.qlikcloud.com/ravegeo/status

Proxies can be difficult, se this page for hints:

Proxy settings tips for the Qlik GeoAnalytics Connector

Thanks,

Patric

Hi Patric,

I am trying to configure GA base to work on a server that does no have access to the internet. I try to use the Map visualization i am getting an invalid key error. I am assuming this is because we do not have internet connectivity. I am able to set up connectivity to specific IP addesses/ports. Can you confirm what URLs i need to establish connectivity with to enable GA base and what the IP/Ports required are? Alternatively, is it possible to reference the maps locally with base?

Thanks!

Nate

GA Base won't work without internet, it connects to Qlik cloud map servers, check that https://maps.qlikcloud.com/ravegeo/status port 443 returns ok (that is url and port neded. GA Enterprise includes the QGA Server which can operate without internet.

For all urls and ports see this doc (IP ranges are not fixed), see the table in the end of the article: ^^^-

The native mapchart will start without internet but without background maps and name lookup, any stored geometries will show. A native map chart can connect to a local QGA server, see manual how to:

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/geoanalytics/Content/Qlik_GeoAnalytics/GeoAnalytics-Server/Installing-Ge...

Thanks,

Patric
