Hello Community,
My client has a new requirement in which he wants that it's client(s) should be able to access their reports over the internet. Is it possible?
To mention here, the clients will be on different networks.
Just like we access our gmail/yahoo account over the web...... and so the client(s) should be able to access their qv reports from anywhere and any network.
Kindly help out in identifying the right approach I should be following to implement the above(if at all it's possible)
This is urgent!
Hi Prajna,
In my case the client had two directories..one for internal and the other for external users. Now for internal users, the directory was confirgured on the qlikview server. For making things accessible for the externasl users, the client had an AD called EXT which I added onto the QV server(we have the option through which we can add directories)
Again for making things available on the internet we need to OPEN PORTS in order to expose reports over the web.
That was a summary of all what I performed. Hope it gives you an idea on how to move ahead.. Pls consult your IT Team abt configuring the external directory and opening ports.
Many Thanks
Gaurav

Thank you so much
So my steps should be
Firstly, ask IT to make an external directory for external users
Secondly, I need to ask them to open all the ports mentioned in the document.
Is that Right?
I need to consider anything else?
Regards,
Prajna
Yes,
and make sure to tell your IT to bind public IP to your server.

Will try it out

Hello Prajna,
Saw your query today. Yes it will work on SBE. All you need is to configure External directory on QlikView server and open the required ports. You can perform an initial test on the TEST/UAT environment and accordingly on the access point also.
Which version of qv are you using
@Thanks Ashfaq for nice explanation
