I am trying to set up a QlikView 11 Server to send out mail from a Microsoft Online Services account, but cannot get it to work.  When i try to send a test email from System -> Setup -> Mail Server -> General, i get the following error:

"Error in processing. The server response was: 5.7.3 Must issue a STARTTLS command first"

I am using connection details based on the Microsoft document detailed here:

Pretty sure the details for the specific account are correct.

So, does QlikView Server (11) support sending mail using Microsoft Online Sevices via SMTP (or another method)?

Hi Brain,

This mail server requires Transport Layer Security and QlikView does not support that.

This article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc745934.aspx defines ways to connect via Outlook web access and/or mobile URLs.

I assume there is no way to use these connection methods instead of SMTP?

No, the only support is SMTP.
