Hey,

Go into the QMC, go to user documents.

Stand on the desired document

On the right part click on Document CALs

put a number higher then the cals assigned to users under 'Number of CALs allocated to this Document'.

write the new user under 'Assigned Users', and press assign cal.

After that press apply.

That's about it.

Hope it helps,

Eliran.

Hi Eliran,

Many thanks.

I did all the steps mentioned by you.

however the problem is "Document CALs assigned for users" is not changing.

I went through this forum and did not find any details after assigning CAL to user there is one more step to do.

Please find the details in the below link.

But the point is not vey clear.

Hey,

I think it doesn't matter.

I just added a new user and the doc cal's assigned to users didn't change, how ever, in the list I see the user I added is there.

So i guess only when the user will log in, the cal will be 'taken'.

Let me know if it helps,

Eliran.

Hi Eliran,

Many thanks.

I have worked further and found some more details.

After assigning Document CAL to user.

We need to add user in the Qlik View Access Point folder in the server where Qlik View has installed.

In this folder we need to select the required qvw document (To give Read, Excute, Full Control etc...).

Ex: abc.qvw

Properties-->security-->Edit-->Add

yeah.. I assigned many users in the same way. but now, when i try to add one more user,

I don't see the "new user" text box or the assign cal button

The summary shows

Document CALs allocated to this document: 5
Document CALs embedded in document: 0
Document CALs assigned to users: 3

Still i can add 2 users?

Please help

I faced the same problem. There are 2 things:

1. In authorization, we have to select 'all authenticated user'

2. When the user login, the doc cal is automatically gets assigned.

This solved my problem.

Hi,

Thought it is late, but when I search related topic, I see this is not answered,

The summary you provide means you already used 5 users, but actually only 3 is actives. Not means you can add 2 users. Normally, the number of the 2 summary should be the same after you active all users added.

If you want to see how many users you can add, you should see the number one line above in the summary:

"Document CALs not allocated on server" as below. For my case, I still can add 4 users. And normally.

Document CALs not allocated on server: 4

Document CALs allocated to this document: 8

Document CALs embedded in document: 0

Document CALs assigned to users: 8

Hope this can help other users.
