Load from ftp failes in QlikView Server but works in QlikView Desktop

When I reload my document in QlikView Desktop on the QlikView Server Machine it works to load data from a .txt file from a ftp server. But when I reload the same document in QlikView Server on the same QlikView Server Machine it does not work to load data from the same .txt file from the same ftp server.

Does anyone have any idea what's wrong?

The error message in the log file is Error: Cannot open file

Hi,

Not sure, but make sure that the ftp port is open on server.

As I said. It works in QlikView Desktop on the same hardware as the QlikView Server.

Hi Jan,

When you say reload via QlikView Server I assume this is from the management console.

Is the account running the Distribution Service the same as the account that you are currently logged in as?

A quick test would be to run the Distribution Service under your domain account, do the reload, and see if it makes any difference.

Hi Gustav

I have logged on to the server machine with the same account as the QV Services are running under. Then I opened the  document with QlikView Desktop and reloaded it and it worked. So that was not the problem.

Maybe I also should say that there are several other documents on the server that are able to reload. The difference is that they don't use ftp to load data.
