Ok to go straight to QV Server 12.6 from 12.2?

Hey all,  Can I just jump to QV Server 12.6 Dec 2021 from 12.2 Nov 2017 and still have it work with Qlikview documents made with QV Desktop 12.2?

Or should I go to a middle version to convert pull documents up.  (Probably no problem on Qlikview.  I'm just thinking of some insanity related to old visual studio files having to be converted in one year's version before being usable by latest version of that program.)

I'm familiar with the backup processes, and have copies of my documents, caldata.pgo, and lef file saved out of the way.  Our server also more than meets the various system requirements.

Thanks in advance!

Steve

Hello @stevelord,

Thanks for posting.

We strongly recommend to review this documents:

As well as doing proper testing on a pre-productive environment to ensure all works as desired and you get the sign-off of your UAT users.

Another remark would be reviewing the release notes of the major version, 12.30 IR, 12.40 IR, 12.50 IR and 12.60 IR to have an overview of the major changes introduced in such versions.

Some of the points I would strongly recommend to review is the new rendering engine introduced within version 12.30 and never - Clarification regarding new Skia rendering engine ... - Qlik Community - 1717842

The change on the BNF mode - QlikView: Failing reloads, macros, and BNF script ... - Qlik Community - 1710626

And last, but not least, a security improvement regarding Open Url action - "Open URL" and "Launch" disabled for document shee... - Qlik Community - 1735525

I hope all this information helps you to have a smooth upgrade.

Cheers,

Albert
