QV11 to QV12 Server Upgrade and QV Desktop question

When upgrading QV server from 11 to 12, would the desktop clients still work if they are on version 11? 

I appreciate it's best practice to have both server and desktop on the same release, but would they still work - i.e. QV11 Desktop will still be able to at least open and edit QV apps?

It's certainly not recommended as you say, but they should work.  Hope this helps.

That does help, thank you Chip. I just needed to check that it wasn't a complete "show stopper" for an upgrade.
