QlikView Server on Virtual Machine

Hello,

I would like to know if QVS is feasible with a Virtual Machine environment. If yes is it recomendable especially to a customer where large volume data has to be processed ? What are the challenges and what can be the potential advantages ?

Appreciate if can get responses with possible case studies..

I'm fairly certain we're running our QlikView servers as virtual machines. However, I didn't set up the environment, don't know what challenges were faced, don't know when it would and would not be recommended, and don't know the potential advantages and disadvantages.

QlikView seems to run ok on virtual machines, but if there is a problem with perfomance the first thing QlikTech support is going to tell you is that "The use of virtualization software (as Host system) should be avoided on production servers, because the emulation overhead has a performance impact."

Regards.
