Dear QT Community Members,
One of Customer is planning to upgrade one of our customer running QV 10 version to QV 11, SR2 release. The Customer is currently running Windows 2003 Server OS, Service Pack 2, 32 bit OS with PAE (Physical Address Extension) Enabled..
Would request you to provide answers to the following queries we have :
* Shall we recommend Customer to upgrade to Windows 2003 64 bit OS Vs existing Windows 2003 Server OS, Service Pack 2, 32 bit OS with PAE (Physical Address Extension) Enabled for better performance of QV 11 SR 2 release ?
* Does the Windows 2003 OS (32 bit) with PAE enabled have performance issues when "Custom QV Apps" running on QV 11, SR2 are put in production ?
* What are the best pratices of migration from QV 10 to QV 11 SR 2 release for the most optimized performance of Custom QV Apps ?
Please do suggest.
regards
QlikView cannot use the PAE and is always limited to 3GB on a 32-bit OS. So I think you should recommend an upgrade to a 64-bit OS.

Dear Henric,
many thanks for your prompt response. But, on theory PAE supports more than 4 GB RAM... Can i request more detail ?
regards
"In theory". A program can only use PAE if it has been programmed to do so. And QlikView isn't.
This is a deliberate design decision: QlikView would have been very slow if it hadn't used contiguous memory.
So the 32-bit limit is 3 GB.
