Hi
Can any one help me to send mail from QVS(QEMC) when reloading a document fails.
Thanks in advance.

Martin, where do you input the email address?
I assume you are trying to use the "Override E-mail" option on Mail Server general tab.
There is an "Alerts" tab in QVS settings: QMC->System->Setup->QlikView Servers
where you should set the email addresses.
Am I blind?
Martin - do you have Publisher or not as the functionality is different dependant on that.
The fact you mention Document Administrators suggests you may have. If you have Publisher then (for QV10 & QV11) the global list of users are defined against the QDS. (System tab, Setup subtab. From the left expand Distribution Services, select the QDS. From the right choose the "Alert E-mail" tab).
as I have written:
NO publisher
Martin, sorry just trying to be helpful, didn't notice that point.
What version of QV are you running? Any chance of a screenshot of the screen where you are defining the email list?
Hello Dave,
QV 11 SR1
Screeshot see below (or on page 1).

Martin - really confused. Sorry but that screenshot looks like a system with a Publisher licence. You have no "Alert Email" tab under the QVS but you do have a "Distribution Services" category on the left which a plain QlikView Server install wouldn't have.
Have you looked under "Distribution Services" as previously mentioned?
right,
the screenshot is not from the "original" server but from a test server.

Another place to check would be ProgramData/QlikTech/DistributionService/1/Log/{date}/{time - documentname}/TaskLog.txt - there should be an entry towards the bottom of the file showing Sending Alert mail if there's been a failure.
Thanks again.
I switched back to the Production server and restarted the task.
Now I got emails... Don't think that I've done anything else than shutting down and restarting the servers (Production -> Standby -> Production). I believe I haven't touched any configuration.
The only thing I don't understand is that I got no alert emails for certain apps, but for others.
Attached two logs (I don't think they are very useful here, you only see the missing "Sending Alert mail" line in tonights task run.[edit: well, ok, that's of course what you don't see ;-)]

Stefan
Restarting the distribution service was probably the fix.
I had an issue last week whereby a scheduled task would not complete, and every time I tried to stop it, it restarted itself. The only way to fix it was to disable the task, stop the running task, restart the Distribution service and re-enable the task. I think I caused the problem myself because I was editing the qvw directly on the live server without first suspending the automation (therefore breaking my own rules ), but it must have caused some corruption of these xml files.
