I hava a customer who is running on QV 11 SR2.
They would like to upgrade to a newer version.
To which version should we do an upgrade? QV11.2 SR8? Or an earlier release?
I've never done an upgrade.
I've read in some discusions that I should stop the Qlikview-services on the server and than just have to double-qlik the exe-file and he should do the rest?
The tasks that are scheduled in the managemant-console, do they disappear?
Or what about the doc- and user-calls?

Yes you can,
But I would suggest you to take proper backup first.
take backup of c:\Programda\QlikTech folder
C:\ program files\QlikView folder
and accesspoint folder.

you can update to any release, SR8 is the newest (with less bugs??)
While installing QlikView will stop services by himself.
No tasks, licenses, jobs and so else will dissapear, you can continue to work after restart the services.
Test before that there are no jobs are running.

I would wait for SR9, lots of bug fixes included.

in my experience it is not needed to go step by step, when in the same Major Version.
Just update to the desired SR.

Yes you are correct if you are upgrading to same family.
i.e upgrading from 11.2 SRx to 11.2 SR8.
I would suggest you to go with 11.2 SR8.

The actual Product Version is 11.0.11440.0 what I think is QV11 SR2 not QV11.2.
Can I upgrade to the latest version directly?
