What is the cause of the difference in speed when opening qvw files on the two servers?

What is the cause of the difference in speed when opening qvw files on the two servers?
How should I figure it out?

I don't know why.
If you know why or how, let me know!

<Checklist>
1. QlikView configuration information
Server 1:
- QlikView version(Server & Desktop): 2021 SR2 12.60.20200
- Installation service (split service): DistributionService, ManagementService, ServiceDispatcher

Server 2:
- QlikView version(Server & Desktop): 2022 12.70.20000
- Installation service: all services

2. Differences in server specifications
There is a RAM difference between the server 1 and the server 2, other specifications are the same.
- Server 1: 176 GB
- Server 2: 208 GB

3. Check if there is a Task schedule
Checked when no jobs were running on both servers.

4. When opening two server click files (.qvw)
qvw file size: The same file is about 7GB in size.
Performance before opening: CPU, memory are low below 20%.
Performance when open: Memory is not high, CPU usage goes up to 100%.
qvw file opens in about 4 minutes on Server 1 and about 3 minutes on Server 2.
Server 1 opens 1-2 minutes late, and outputting values, such as selecting tabs in documents, is relatively very slow.

Thanks & Regards.

@qwebnm yes to echo @marcus_sommer a 7 GB QVW is quite huge, your application should be reviewed by a QlikView Developer to be sure its designed correctly, look if its possible to archive out old data so that the QVW can be reduced down to a useable size.

Hi @qwebnm,

If you haven't already read the white paper on how the QIX engine utilizes system resources, then I suggest that you do. It does a great job in providing these details and should give you some understanding on all of the variables that can effect QlikView Server performance. See the Qlik Knowledgebase article/video QlikView and Qlik Sense resource usage and the Qlik Associative Engine Memory Management and CPU Uti....

Assuming it's really the identically file - otherwise there might be differences in regard to a compression, prj-folder, section access, a differently loaded dataset, ... - the network to the storage would have an impact. Further the QlikView Server, OS, VM and the machine settings could be cause differences especially in regard to used hardware, for example a lack of RAM seems not to be the case but the performance from the RAM could be different.

Beside this your description hints for a quite high CPU consumption which is a hint for a not suitable designed application. Applications with this size should use a star-scheme data-model which includes all essential logic so that the UI objects could mainly use simple expressions like sum(Field) or count(Field). Bad designed data-models and a lot of nested if-loops and/or aggr() constructs within the UI are performance killer.

To identify the differences between the servers could be quite hard and resolving them even more. Therefore, I would suggest optimizing the application first.
