Hi,
Can you change a background cell of a field based on a condition.
Currently the Pivot table has this option but not the Table object.
Can anybody confirm ?
Thanks
Hi,
You are right, Table object doesnt have this functionality.
You should use Straight table instead of table box to get the functionality you want.

Kaushik Solanki
Thanks Kaushik for recommendation of the Straight table.
Problem with Straight Table, it does not provide the horizontal scroll bar.
The formating of columns is limited.
Have we reach a limitation in qlikview ?
The user wants to see over 30 columns like excel in a table. (hence need to scroll to the right)
with condition formating that exists with excel cells. Such as change background colour based on a rule.
hello
if you use a straight table, you can change the background color
qv tries to show all the dimensions and show the scroll bar for the expressions
try to limit then number of dimensions and resize tour table
Thanks Olivier,
However my straight table I cannot make it smaller.
meaning i cannot seem to change the width smaller.
it keeps same size even when change the Width in caption.
The scroll bar should have an option to show both vertical and horizontal.
Thanks
look at what i have
it's a straight table wirh horizontal et vertical scroll bar
Appreciate that. But for some reason the horizontal bar will never appear
It seems when click on Presentation--->tick Always fully expanded
it move the border of the right table to FULL length...hence it seems it
width is unlimited.
version of qlikview is 12.0.20400.0 SR5 64-bit
check in disposition,if "adjust to size of data" is selected
I see the problem
The scroll horizontal bar will never appear under the dimensions on the
left hand side. Meaning if you have more than 3 dimensions say 20
it will only show the scroll bar when you put fields as columns on the top of the pivot table
which looks fairly ugly,
So the request was to show the fields and scroll to the right (horizontal)
this can be done in standard table...but the table functionality object lacks cell formatting.
It may be a quirk rather than a 'feature', but format your straight table (chart) as you want, then embed it in a container object and size that to something smaller than the size of the table. When it is published on the web, it will have a horizontal scroll bar. You can check the effect by using WebView in your QV desktop edition.
Thanks,
