AD group not showing for distribution

Hi!
New created AD groups are not available for distribution.
Everything working fine with existing groups and they are showing in "Search result" but we missing new ones.

We already restart the services and still not showing.

Would a restart of server will help?
Where in log files we can see when last time the AD was snyc?

Any thoughts?

Thx in advanced

Thomas

OK now the new AD groups are available.
The AD group type (Security vs. Distribution) was not set up correctly.
Look like somehow our QlikView Server only looking for group type "Security".

It may take a while for AD information like this to spread to your environment. A server restart may help.

Use the QMC->Users tab to verify what account/group membership information is trickling through.

Ok server restart didn't help.

Where on server (log files?) I can find information about last time of successful AD sync?
I can see new AD groups in search of "Active Directoy" but still not available for distribution on QlikView server.

Please help!

No idea.

The default Cache Expiry is set to 60 minutes. If you're in a hurry, you can change this value (for example to a smaller one) in the DSP settings in QMC. But keep in mind that the DSC will not check whether anything has changed at all in AD, it will just do a forced cache update after the delay you configured expires. It may start taxing your system if you got a complex AD.

Thx!
Just checked the groups in the "QMC --> User --> User Management" tab
and I can't see the groups there neither.

Already tried with changing "Cache Expiry" and "Service timeout" values.
Sadly without any success.

Which is quite logical. AD Distribution groups are not the same as QlikView Distribution targets. QlikView needs verified identities to distribute to. As part of the process, QlikView Distribution assigns rights to documents to those identities, so they must represent at least some kind of "file system rights holder".

AD Distribution groups on the other hand are artifical groups (i.e. collections of various things) to - for example - distribute email to. AFAIK you cannot assign file rigts to distribution groups.
