I'm loading an excel file into qlikview that has an address field such as "804 west George st". I'm wanting to compare this address to the database which also pulls into qlikview in a separate field. However, sometimes the address in the excel sheet will not be exact as the address in the db. I want to somehow pull the records that are "like" each other and display them.
Have you had a look at the Soundex-Algorithm? It may help so sort out some addresses, others might be checked by filtering the ZIP-codes, the first 8 letters etc. In the past have solved similar issues more or less manually within Excel with refining VLOOKUPs.
