Best Practices on Data Requirments?

Hi,

We are looking for best practices for Data structuring like what type of data does Qlik requires (I know it can ready any data) but at enterprise level looking for best guide lines, so that we can apply those guide lines in our staging area.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Rajesh

Hi,

I would suggest that you have a 3 tier architecture (See below image). This allows for separation of duties and  if something goes wrong, you know exactly where to look. Further explaination, please see: https://community.qlik.com/docs/DOC-8519

On another note, when modelling, remember that a star schema is always a good way to go but of cause this will depend on the data itself

Thanks for your quick response.

However, I am looking more into how data need to be aligned so Qlik can easily read and map the data/tables (instead of writing more script and minimizing grabbing more tables at Qlik side).

Cheers,

Rajesh
