Connecting to Hadoop

Hi everyone:

I'd like to know how to connect to hadoop from a QlikView application script. More specifically, what is the connector?

Also, I'd like to know if there is a hadoop database to which connect, make some practice & see how it goes.

Hi Christian,

there are many ways to use Hadoop as a data source depending on the use case or usage of Hadoop and the distribution/vendor.

You can connect via JDBC to:

- Hadoop file system (HDFS): TIQView Blog - Hadoop HDFS JDBC driver with QlikView - A Blog about QlikView Data Integration

- Hive (see link above)

- Impala: TIQView Blog - Using Impala for Self Service BI - A Blog about QlikView Data Integration

- HBase: forcedotcom/phoenix · GitHub

and with some vendor specific ODBC drivers.
