Display two dimensions on one axis

Hi, I am a very new QlikView user, I want a sheet object to apply the same expression to two dimensions (not any combination of such, just putting all items from two separate dimensions on the same axis).

I have struggled with logical operators and all kinds of suggestions found in searches and come up with nothing.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can use Calculated dimension as

Dimension1 & Dimension2,

In this way, your two dimension will be on same axis and Expression will be calculated accordingly.

Hi Andrew,

You can add that two Dimensions in One Cyclic group.

Go to charts properties, In Dimension tab

and click on Edit group button

Hi Andrew,

Choose the chart (Ex.Bar Chart) and Add two fields in Dimensions Tab and give the Expression in Expression tab and apply automatically it will aggregate the data according to those two dimensions. One dimension will be shown as horizontal X-Axis another it comes on right hand side as a legend.

Vishal,

"Edit Groups" is grayed out on my screen.

Santhosh, I don't want to aggregate the dimensions.  I just want them to appear side-by-side on a chart, e.g., if one is months, and the other is year, like this:

January

February

March

...

December

2013

This helps, but:

  1. It breaks my expression - I am doing Count (one thing) / Count (another thing) and the higher level dimension (this is a hierarchy where one lower dimension is contained within the higher one that I am trying to add side-by-side) says > 100% which I know is wrong.
  2. The labels now appear as "Dim1NameDim2Name" when I need them to still just be "Dim1Name" (or "Dim2Name" for the ones in the second dimension).
