Not able to un-select a particular field from Current Selection Box

Hi guys,

Need your help as I'm not able to un-select a particular field from Current Selection Box.

Even "Clear All Selection" doesn't work.

I know that enabling "Always one selected value" could be one of the reason, I checked disabling that and trying too but to no avail.

Any idea why?

Sorry for the delay.

Due to client confidentiality clause, I won't be able to share the actual file but I have attached a very minimal version with the same problem.

There are 4 tabs & 2 of them (Tab 3 & Tab 4) includes the "Current Selection" control where there are fields selected. I'm unable to de-select them. I think it's something to do with states since the selection differs when I change the state.

I understand it might not make much sense since I've deleted most of the controls but still, I don't know why fields are not getting de-selected.

Please let me know what am I doing wrong.

Hello Pawan,

There are multiple alternate states in your application. If you delete all the states (Please take a backup of your application before that) and try to clear all selections, it would work.

Document Properties->General tab-> Alternate State-> delete all states.

I tried this but did not work for me, still unable to de-select.

Multiple states is something I have purposely used for the tabs to be able to show different selections. It was working all fine until I faced this problem.

Let me know if I can try anything else to get rid of this.

I tried in your shared application, it worked. Possibly you are using 'Always One Selected Value' in different list boxes which are in different alternate states. Therefore to clear all selections, you have to remove the 'Always One Selected Value' from all the states selections. If you can't have it done that means some list boxes are still hidden that you could not deal with.

Weird that it's not working at my side (Demo.qvw). I deleted all the states, even refreshed the application. There are no controls other then the 'Current Selection box'.

Yes, I'm aware about the 'Always One Selected Value' option. I am using 'Always One Selected Value' in different list boxes in different tabs which are in different alternate states like you said but in order to clear these fields I have tried removing the option and checked but didn't work. 

I have also already checked the hidden controls & there are none using these selected fields.

Last thing you might want to check if there is any trigger(though i did not find one in your sample app).

Hi Pawan,

Guess,  to deselect the particular selections from Current Selection Box, both the List Box state and Current Selection state should be same.

Check for the attached file:

• In Tab3, Alternate State is State C for Current Selection box. For List Box too, I changed it to State C.  Now I am able to clear it the selections.
• In Tab4: States are different. So not able to clear.

Please check if this helps.

Also, you can test by adding the desired list box and clearing all the States to Inherited or Default in both the List Box and Current Selection Box.

Then you can clear the selections too.

Thanks everyone for the prompt reply.

I think it was some kind of bug in Qlikview that popped up while I was developing it. All I did to unselect the field was, remove the field from the data (since it was an inline data field) by commenting in the Load script and reload the data.

The field vanished and so was the selection. And not faced it again.
