Opening Head Count - Employees - URGENT Help required

I have empno , empname, doj,date_of_resign  fields

how i can show opening headcount/gross additions/attrition/closing head count

GRADE	Opening Headcount	Gross Additions	Attrition	Net Additions	Closing Headcount
ASSOCIATE	193	3	0	3	196
STAFF	74	3	0	3	77

Please any one have idea please give guide lines also I want to calculate Attriation rate company level how I do this ?

        What exactly do you need? You almost got it and the error you are reporting is fixed in the second sheet.

error is not related to user response  it is related to Jonathan I think solution is given by him is workable

I have the same requirement . showing opening and closing employee headcount into my application on month on month basis . also show the waterfall chart on current month and yearly . but in my application am not able to use loops as records are in millions and we are using master calendar . can someone tell me how can I achieve this

Hi All

In one of the requirement I have to show opening and closing emp headcount on month on month basis in my dashboard . also I have to develop the water fall chart to show the current Month and current year opening and closing Emp headcount with hiring and leaving of that month . am using master calendar and on selection of that the chart will filter out accordingly .  formula to calculate the opening and closing are given below

Opening balance = closing of the last month

Hiring = Current month joining

Leaving = Current month Leaving

Closing - Opening + Joining -leaving

can someone help me to achieve this requirement
