Preceding Loads vs. Resident Loads

Hi,

I want to maintain optimization on my loads of qvd's, or atleast load them in as quick as possible. I know that when I create a preceding load of my qvd it breaks optimization. But I have heard that it is still faster than a resident load by getting the data in memory then manipulating my data then. Is it true that a Preceding load will (in most cases) be more efficient than a resident load of my data?

Thanks,

Bryan
