Hey!
I'm quite new to QlikView and trying to improve my data modeling skills.
My current problem is that synthetic keys are created where I don't want to have them and I don't have any solution at the moment.
Following pic will show you my structure:
My former key %Position_Artikel turned into a synthetic key by adding the new table 'Nebenlager'. I tried to associate it to 'Artikel' which didn't work. Both tables have similar fields called 'ArtikelNr' (Nebenlager) or 'ArtikelPart_Nr' (Artikel).
Is there any solution how I can associate those two tables without touching 'Positionen'?
Thanks!
Just renaming one Artikel field like: ArtikelNr as ArtikelNr_XYZ would remove the synthetic key. It depends on the content of your article-fields and their context if this will work or if you need to rename one or more of them into ...position or reversed or maybe combining both fields within a single field.

Thank you, it worked out well!
No more synthetic keys 🙂
Magdalena, here is a Design Blog link that should potentially help in addition to Marcus' post, there are a bunch of other topics in this area of Community as well, so you may want to use it in the future when you are trying to figure out how to do some things. Glad Marcus was able to get you fixed up this time.
