Hi,
We have enabled NTFS mode of authorization in our organization. The developer creates the .qvw file and puts in a folder, that folder is mounted on qlikview server. Now, another person needs access to reports in that folder. Is it true that only way to do that is by giving permission at windows level. The problem is that I cannot give permission at windows level as that is against our security policy. Please let me know if there is an alternative way.
Thanks,
In NTFS mode, you must grant windows READ permission to grant access.
If you switch to DMS mode, you do not need to modify windows permissions. You can grant access directly through the QMC.

Another answer provided by a colleague:
Under NTFS authorization mode, NTFS filesystem permission is used by the Qlikview server to determine user authorization. A user will have to have NTFS file level permission explicitly or indirectly through AD group in order to see the QV application in the access point. If a QV application is copied directly to Qlikview user document directory (local or mounted), the qvw file permission may need to be modified to give access to specific users or AD group. If the Qlikview application is reloaded by the Qlikview publisher, the publisher will assign the appropriate NTFS file permission based on the reload task configuration on the QMC.
