There is no attachment "below"...

It's fairly easy. If your Distribute tab has an area with "Distribute to QlikView Server" as title, then you can publish to the AccessPpoint. If your version of the Distribute tab doesn't have that area, then you can't and a QlikView Administrator should configure your document to be published in the AP.

Let's consider as your company has some public IP depends on your USERS and storing of files

www.community.qlik.com and we have IP using IIS / Tomcat to get into host so then we need to publish that work file to the IP only. So, in QVS there is option called Mount / Root folder to access the files from server. And, Once it has done then they provide access which is default if your company has any Web Ticket Method and obviously you need to provide those credentials to the USER then they will access

Development:

Here, we are writing section access script to allocating the application access (If needed).. Finally, You have to provide as there credentials to access like credentials to open the work file where we done the QVW.

Finally, For your question you could give your public IP www.community.qlik.com/login.htm and tell them about your navigation to see the application. Then hit on the application where we need.

There are two different answers to your question.

  1. The AccessPoint is a web portal that offers access to all documents published to a particular user. If you want to supply a link to the AccessPoint (from where a user can easily select and open a specific document), use something like:

            http://servername/qlikview

Replace servername with the name of the server on which the AccessPoint is hosted.

  2. If on the contrary you want to supply a direct link to a particular document (no AccessPoint involved at all, just another html document), you'll first have to open the document yourself, check the address bar in your browser and get acquainted with the way QlikView Server provides access to a specific document. You can pass this link to the other user if you want.

Does it mean, You disable one of the QVW in your server and you want to show the same QVW in Access point with out going back QMC? Isn't it?

I feel you have done some script environment which reload the file and using Batch script to achieve. But, I am not 100% sure what you are doing now and i am not into server..

Elaborating on what Peter said, the AccessPoint, by default, has the same address than the computer which hosts the QlikView WebServer (note that it could be Qlik's own webserver or IIS, so whichever runs the web server).

If you run more than one web server to balance the load, then the right URL could be either the load balancer URL (more appropriately) or each of the web servers URL, which you can take from the QMC > System > Setup > QlikView Web Servers > click on one > Summary and something like "http://servername:4750/QVWS/Service", so http://servername/qlikview would be the right address.

EDIT: Open the document in the AccessPoint yourself (not referring to the webserver as "localhost") and use this URL for any other user. That will work too.

From the screenshot you posted above, I get it that you are a Document Administrator. Which means that your QlikView setup contains a Publisher. Which means that your documents aren't simply published by dropping them in the AccessPoint folder (they can be published like this, but that's probably not what the sysadmin did).

A Publisher (which is like an extremely configurable reload engine) usually picks up documents from a Source Folder (invisible to AP visitors), optionally reloads and reduces them and then - if this documents need to make an appearance in the AP - distributes them to a User Folder.

You're right, you don't need to reload your document in this case, but to get it into the AP you need at least to distribute your document to your QlikView server and to a specific group of users (possibly all of them). Enable the task, disable the reload step (top right in the Reload tab) and configure the Distribute tab.

If you don't know how to do this, let us know.

Best,

Peter
