Hi All,
I am creating this thread to list down some interview questions that i was asked
1. Can we do reverse engineering in qlikview.
He meant from the qvw application can i create the datawarehouse or data mart and how ?
2. In order to optimise the qlikview app for being used in mobile what setting needs to be done.?
I asked him what kind of setting he is referring to then he explained me further as,
"all qvw apps are click based, optimised for the computer what can i do so that the application gets optimised for touch based just as android apps are optimised for touch screen"
3.what are the features that are in tableau which are not availaible in qlikview ?
one feature is VizQL which he mentioned himself but according to my understanding it is nothing but sql being generated from users drag and drop actions . maybe he was looking for the exact keyword "vizql" which i mentioned in the form of drag and drop.
Could anybody add their thoughts or possible answers to these questions.
Regards,
Nadeem

The metadata I referred to will be the source database metadata. It will contain all sorts of details about the fields, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, data types, users, permissions .. etc, etc..
Either they're after something specific and the question is badly worded, or the interviewer doesn't know what he is talking about !
Hi,
Could anybody put their thoughts or prabably answer these questions

Hi,
Could any of the experts of our community pour their thoughts on this.

Hi Nadeem,
1. From my perspective, this is an odd question. Yes the qvw app contains the data pulled from the data warehouse but it is unlikely it would have information on the indexes and keys (and tons more metadata) that the DW had. If the qvw script has filtered the data then that data would obviously be lost.
2. There is a setting in QMC (Documents > {document} > Server > Availability > [] Mobile Client). Could be this?
Don't know about Tableau.

Hi,
thanks for replying .
i was also confused about it but then i gave him a weird answer to a weird question i told him "maybe you could export your data into excel from qvw and then create tables or data marts out of it ".
on this he told me "tell me something apart from this "
As you mentioned metadata .. could the governance dashboard give information about it ???
And yes thanks or the second answer

Nadeem
