Restrict access to one sheet

Hi

I have seven sheets in my doc and I want sheet 7 only to be password protected when it is opened. The password would be a single password.

The section access password is either entered on opening the document, or can be linked to Active Directory login so the restrictions are applied automatically without the need for the user to be prompted for a login.

So what I want to be able to do is just have a single password on one sheet which only certain users will have access to.  So is section access this method?

Hi,

Instead of adding a password for a sheet, you may enable or disable (hide or show) a sheet based on the User that is using the app. With Section Access you can use the NTNAME or Windows UserID to restrict the information that a user is allowed to see, but you can also use Section Access to enable or disable which sheets a user can see in the app.

The previous example (Sheets Security with Section Access)  shows how to use Section Access to retrieve Active Directory's login information so that users don't need to log in or type a password to enter the app, and based on which user logs in, the app will show the correct information and enable the proper sheets so that each user only gets the information that's supposed to see.

So i would still need to set up the Section Access regardless in the method described.

Section Access would be the best option since it'll be the safest method. Dalton Ruer's option is easier to implement and to break since it depends on a password that user's may share with others.

I recommend you try to use Section Access.

I wasnt clear how Dalton's option would work.  Would you be able to provide me with info on that option so at least then i can make the choice.

It's quite easy. Open the attached and type "password" (lower case) in the Enable Hidden Sheet box.

If you type any other value, the Hidden Sheet won't show. Once you enable the Hidden Sheet go to that Sheet properties and review the Show Sheet Conditional calculation.

I enclosed a file in my last responde. If you can't see it perhaps you can try with a different internet browser. You'll need a Developer QlikView license to open that file, if you don't have one it'll be difficult to explain how to do replicate this option.
