Sum depending on Max(Data)

Hello,

I try to analyse an inventory value and assign the individual subtotals to suppliers/vendors.

This should be very simple by following the rule "...the last active supplier is responsible for his inventory" (not very correct, but simple and works)

So I have for example one materialnumber, which is supplied by lets say three different vendors. I want the inventory value of this article assigned to the actual supplier.

I do not want to define the "actual supplier" by scripting or so, because the assignment shouldnt be fix.

I tried several times with Set Analysis, but nothing works. I prepared a qvw to explain my problem.

Any assistance will be appreciated!!

Hi there,

Attached is how i would approach this. I created a new table on the back-end and then summed those results on the front-end. I think your table with results is a little off for certain vendors, but I believe mine will be accurate.

Hope it helps.

Thanks

Hi Ajay,

thank you very much. This helps a lot and I will integrate your solution in my purchase controlling/reporting structures.

Ajay, I have one more question. Do you think, a similar solution is possible with a formula, e.g. a "Set Analysis"?

The reason for my question is, in my original reporting structures I have a calendar based on Year and Month. When I want to see maybe the results as of end June 2013 instead June 2014, it will show me the previous inventory values, but linked with the "actual" vendor links. So it would be phantastic, to have the previous values "connected" with the previous vendors (...which are changing over time of course).

But anyway, I will carry on with your solution (...as I lost too much time trying to find own solutions 😉

Thank you,

Guenter

Doing it on the back-end was easy compared to front-end calculation thats why I went with that. I personally found it tough to do on FE, but maybe others might have an answer to your question.

When I get some time I will try to see if I can come up with some solution.

Thanks

AJ
