What is transport when it comes to connect qlik to sap bw system

Hi,

I am new to sap and sap bw. I would like to know about the description of some of the terms that we come across when it comes to connect qlik to sap bw.

Basic questions like what are the components that take part in process of qlik connection with sap bw?

e.g what is transport?
