Whats the pros and cons of the BNF reload mode

Hi all,

In the QlikView November 2017 release a new reload mode was introduced?

I have not really gasped the benefits or drawbacks of this feature? I've noticed that some experienced reload script errors when upgrading to the later version,  but I've not seen a good overview of the benefits with this change.

When should I disable the BNF on app level, when is it a good idea to disable it on a server level?

The key thing of which to be aware is in November 2018 release, 12.30 track, R&D have removed the ability to disable BNF, so keep that in the back of your mind here, as if you start adding this in your 12.20 environment, when you upgrade to 12.30 or later, you will have to address things then regarding syntax related issues that need to be fixed.

Here is a Help site link that may be a bit more helpful than the other note you found:

I forgot to come and post a new article on this one, apparently there was a potential defect involved in November 2018 release, 12.30 where the BNF could still be turned off, but it is confirmed in April 2019 that it can no longer be deactivated there...

BNF deactivation no longer possible in 12.40/April 2019 release

Brett
