Does anyone know how to graph a comparative y/y? I want the graph to look like this:
The QV data is in a two-dimension table like this:
Month | Sales Volume |
1/31/2007 | 663.25 |
2/28/2007 | 672.15 |
3/31/2007 | 765.51 |
4/30/2007 | 776.44 |
5/31/2007 | 830.62 |
6/30/2007 | 748.55 |
7/31/2007 | 835.88 |
8/31/2007 | 843.76 |
9/30/2007 | 878.79 |
10/31/2007 | 847.39 |
11/30/2007 | 851.20 |
12/31/2007 | 786.00 |
1/31/2008 | 696.64 |
2/29/2008 | 764.72 |
3/31/2008 | 878.70 |
4/30/2008 | 875.89 |
5/31/2008 | 807.88 |
6/30/2008 | 773.22 |
7/31/2008 | 917.78 |
8/31/2008 | 1,109.32 |
9/30/2008 | 823.75 |
10/31/2008 | 839.87 |
11/30/2008 | 734.93 |
12/31/2008 | 864.93 |
1/31/2009 | 838.23 |
2/28/2009 | 646.93 |
3/31/2009 | 804.08 |
4/30/2009 | 750.71 |
5/31/2009 | 776.80 |
6/30/2009 | 723.55 |
7/31/2009 | 909.66 |
8/31/2009 | 859.06 |
9/30/2009 | 884.46 |
10/31/2009 | 810.95 |
11/30/2009 | 774.06 |
12/31/2009 | 1,028.34 |
1/31/2010 | 782.46 |
2/28/2010 | 850.34 |
3/31/2010 | 1,074.08 |
4/30/2010 | 891.20 |
I realize I could create a cross-table looking like this:
Year | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jly | Aug | Sep | Oct |
2007 | 663.25 | 672.15 | 765.51 | 776.44 | 830.62 | 748.55 | 835.88 | 843.76 | 878.79 | 847.39 |
2008 | 696.64 | 764.72 | 878.7 | 875.89 | 807.88 | 773.22 | 917.78 | 1,109.32 | 823.75 | 839.87 |
2009 | 838.23 | 646.93 | 804.08 | 750.71 | 776.8 | 723.55 | 909.66 | 859.06 | 884.46 | 810.95 |
2010 | 782.46 | 850.34 | 1,074.08 | 891.2 |
But given the volume of detail I'm dealing with (Jan '08 to present resulting in 200,000ish records), it's just impractical.
Any suggestions?

I have been working on this for 2 days. I knew the answer had to be very simple but I just could not get it. THANK YOU so much!!!
