A drill-down group is composed of a natural hierarchy of related fields like for instance Year, Quarter, Month, Day

A cyclic group is just a collection of fields that is not a hierarchy - that is often unrelated or not strongly related.  The cyclic group is a handy way of replacing one field with another field in a chart.

Hi,

Both Drill-Down and Cyclic are both Groups.

Drill-Down are used to create hierarchies of fields, (i.e Country -> City), this allow users to go from 1 level to the next level down, hence the name Drill-Down.

Cyclic on the other hand are non-hierarchical and usually used just as a convenient way of letting users switch chart dimension fields by simple click of mouse.

You can create this groups by ctrl + Alt + D and click on Group tab

Welcome Saimohan

If you want to pick and change the dimension, use a cyclic group.

If you want to navigate to a hierarchy by drilling down, then use a drill down group.

simply,

drill (relational objects as a group)--one way like top to bottom --generally u can use this for time dimension like year to Quarter to Month to Week to Day

cyclic group (un realtional objects as group)- u can switch from any object to any other object there is no relation ship,u can keep un related objects in one group.
