interactive sort with RowNo(Total) does not work

I add the expression RowNo(Total) to a table and the interactive sort on all other expressions does not work anymore.

Please see attached example.

Just try promoting your columns in the sort tab.

Promote RowNo(Total) top (Priority)

I don't understand.

I would like to enable the interactivity, that the analyser can change the sorting.

Example: sort by Sales, descending; than sort by Qty, ascending...,

however, the rowno() expression should show a "1" in the first line, "2" in the second, and so on.

How can I enable the interactive sort?

The sort by dimension (Artikel, Lieferant) does work, but not the sort by expression (Sales, Qty).

I have the same problem!

If you use the Rowno(total) as expr in a straight table with multiple dimensions and one (or more) other expression, if you want to sort the table by the expression (Descending) the sort will be run inside the segment (see the definition of the segment using the Help) as for the Rowno() without the "total" qualifier then the sort wil be reset each time the segment will change.

If I exclude the Rowno(total) the sort works fine based on the value of the expression but i can't have the a rowindex.

Any suggestion on an alternative way to put a rowindex in a straight table?

Anyone with an answer to this? I have a Group as the dimension (Store) and an expression (sum(Sales). If I use the Rowno() as expression I can't sort by Sales Desc.....it is overriding and using the Group instead even though I explicitly changed the expression to the top of the sort order.

All I wish to do is generate a row number so when the user scrolls down a table he can see ranking (e.g. rowno) based on the interactive sort.

I have the same problem, When I use rowno() function, Straight table looses the sort capability.

Hi,

You can jus add this expression in your table as a Column

=1+IF(isnull(Above(a)),0,Above(a))

If you have more than one dimension in your Table then use

=1+IF(isnull(Above(total a)),0,Above(total a))

Where 'a' is the column name for the same expression. 😄
