I am trying to source a text file using the fixed records file type and then do a conditional delete transformation on the rows I do not want. However, when I realod the document I get an error message saying 'Field not found - <@1:8>' Not sure what is causing this . If I dont do any transformation the table loads fine with the fixed records. Below you can find the .txt with the information and a .xls (the information i want to keep is in yellow). I hope you can help me please!!
I did not undertand what you are trying to do with these two files.
i see lot of headers or some randoms comments everywhere in the files?
so you want to load the data from the excel that is in yellow in color and have 02 jan for each and every row?
could you please explain more what you are trying to achieve?
You got empty lines in your text source file.
A fixed records file expects lines with exactly the same length (that why it's called "fixed", I guess).
I think whenever you try to force the import filter to read 8 characters (e.g. <@1:8> ) when there are none, you'll get an error.
I don't think it's wise to try to read a variable line-length file with a fixed-width filter. Can't you just read all lines as-tehy-come (e.g. as one variable series of characters), and then disassembled them in subsequent LOADs?
