Resident field

HEllo

i have

table1:

field 1, field2

and

table 2

field 3 , field 4

i want to create a concatinate field To link it with another field5 in a table3.

table1.field1 & table2.field3.

‌i think i have to use the resident ! Right ?

i found the solution.

join 2 tables in temp_table, and then use the resident table so you can use the 2 table and make calculation in the editor

concatenate is for table not for field

could you explain the expected output? or post a .qvw with an example?

Split the key in Table 3  as per Table1 .Field1 and  Table2.Field3 if they are completely different ID's and rename them exactly as per Field1 and Filed3.  As per QlikView associative property, they will have association with Table1 and Table2.

If you are looking for completely different scenario, upload sample QVW.

‌concatenate mean make a composite key

field1 '001', fiel2 'Abc'

field1 & '-' & field2  as key

the key   ---->     001-abc

but the fields are i a differante tables

It will not form a loop unless you have anything common between table1 and 2. Can you at least specify how did you do it with field names!!
