When using the plugin to view a report, some users can use the advanced search option, and others can't.
It doesn't seem to be related to the version of IE or the version of windows as it works for some and not others.
Has anyone any ideas for this that I can try to get it working?
No, I was thinking about the version of the plugin itself, not the IE version.
Have these users tried to access the application via plugin from the same system?

the correct version of the plugin, i.e that which matches the server install is supplied as part of the serer software installation, you can find it in C:\Program Files\QlikView\Server\QlikViewClients\QlikViewPlugin, there's two copies, one for Windows 8 and another for everything else.
