Compose for Data Warehouse - Show Attribute Lineage back to Source when Replicate is involved

Attachments

I am requesting that where possible the original source should be added as an additional level to the lineage view of an attribute in Compose for Data Warehouse.  This is so you can differentiate between Replicate derived columns/attributes and source attributes.  Currently Compose can only see as far back as the landing zone for the lineage of an attribute.

The current capability is fine where you are not utilizing Replicate to land the data or for whatever reason you cannot connect back to original source.  However, where Replicate is landing the data and you are able to connect Compose back to original source, then that should be part of the lineage.

The use case being is if Replicate is involved in any kind of transformations or adding of derived columns, they will appear to originate at the same landing zone level as original source data when viewed through Compose lineage.

Hi Ericschmid,

Thank you for your feedback. This makes sense and is planned, but at a wider context than just the Compose lineage level. Stay tuned...

Regards,

Tzachi
