Extension administration

This now it is very hard to identify which apps use an extension, and therefore the impact of a change for the purposes of regression testing.

Can QMC be expanded to show under extensions a new section for apps which utilise it and ideally on which sheet(s) ?

Thanks for the likes. Today I was looking at Tag lineage and it shows any resources using the tag in a very helpful way. The same for extensions would be helpful. As of course would be a generic ability to export the QMC data grid.

I think they compliment each other. Not sure which is easiest for Qlik to deliver 😉

Hi @AndrewMcIlwrick thanks for providing the idea. I'm changing the Status to "Collecting Feedback" as we are adding it to our backlog and do further analysis to understand what we can do here.

We will update the Status and the Idea with more details as soon as we can share more.

Best regards,

Thomas

Thanks @Thomas_Hopp - it will be good to see what technical solutions are possible. This now we are looking at utilising the QIX telemetry logs to get the app usage as there seems to be no API/Postgres query solution that will give this information out the box. Also on QSEoW please 😉

And  of course as many customers move beyond native QS visualisations the code lineage in extensions becomes very important. One workaround is to simply create a tag for each extension and add this to the app, but it is a tedious error-prone task. Could tags be part of the solution perhaps ?
