Fixed size label text on Button object

Fixed size label text on Button object

In the native Button object the text size adjusts with the size of the window and the length of the text. This gives us three problems:

  1. With several buttons it is almost impossible to make it look consistent when the text sizes vary a lot.
  2. On smaller screens you end up with so small text that is becomes unreadable.
  3. Behaviour is not consistent with the rest of the client and other objects.

Add an option to fix the text size, e.g. 14 px. If the text does not fit with inside the button then use ellipsis text overflow ( Xyz... ).

Additionally it would be nice if different icons could be faded in per function

Fixed font size for button is really needed when more than 1 button per sheet is used, which is very often. Thank you.

Would love to see this - we have more or less stopped using button objects due to the inability to get a predictable and consistent UI/UX.

Delivered as of May 30th 2023 to Qlik SaaS, scheduled for August 2023 client managed release.
New modes to control size: fixed, fluid and responsive:

  • Fixed: set size in pixels.
  • Fluid: set relative to button height, will resize with button. Overflow can happen.
  • Responsive: label scales to always fit, the old mode.

Same behavior as the KPI.

If I use chr(10), I can also break the line with text in the button.
Nice feature!
Thanks.

This is really annoying, not to have this "kind of flexibility"
