Make Trellis container react on selections made in separate filter pane

I would like to suggest that objects in the trellis container react/respond to selections made in a filter pane outside the trellis container, so that when I select a value in the filter pane (for instance an education), I get to see only vizualisations of the possible values of the dimension used in the Trellis container (for instance the three geographical location of the education selected in the filter pane). As the Trellis container works right now (Qlik Sense September 2020 release), I get to see all values of the dimension used in the Trellis container (ten geographical locations), regardless of my selection in the filter pane. The filter pane is outside of the Trellis container, thus a seaparate object on the sheet.

I do not know if this current behaviour is actually a bug in Qlik Sense.

Hi @blipblopdk ,

This sounds like a bug to me. The trellis container should be reacting or responding to filter pane selections since it will operate with the same rules as the rest of the visualizations. @Patric_Nordstrom can you confirm?

If yes, this should be submitted as a bug, not an idea.

Any update on this?

Hi @blipblopdk , I put this through to Product Managment into the ideation process.

Hi @Meghann_MacDonald, great. But it seems to me more like a bug than a new feature as you also commented at first. Is there any clarification as to if it is a bug or not?

Thank you for your feedback on ways to improve our product. While this is something we understand would be useful, it's not on the short-term roadmap. Please continue to show your support for this idea.

The current behavior is by design, the trellis container is created by a 3rd party and is part of the visualization bundle, when bringing in objects we choose not to change the basic functions. That said we may try change it in the future, either in the object or creating a new container.

The container is open source, for those who want to explore options: https://github.com/qlik-oss/qwik-trellis

The idea is a duplicate of https://community.qlik.com/t5/Ideas/Trellis-Chart-Visualizations-Bundle-Remove-empty-charts/idi-p/17...

Thanks,

The trellis container doesn't work with set analysis, can you fix this?

@smgt90  yes it does, please use the "advanced mode" when using complex expression with set analysis.

Example, see sheet "trellis container":

@Patric_Nordstrom

thanks! I got it to work after a lot of trial and error. It should be easier than that though.

There is another similar older, with more likes idea: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Ideas/Trellis-Chart-Visualizations-Bundle-Remove-empty-charts/idi-p/17.... Consider like and comment that idea.

Thanks,
