Current OData connector only supports XML data. OData v4 specification is already in wide use (Microsoft D365 for example) so Qlik OData connector should support JSON data with the v4 spec.
This should be done to both SaaS Odata connector and Web connectors OData connector.
I have also issues with the OData connector as the OData protocol used in the API is 4.0. Any indication when this feature will be released in QS SaaS?
Is there currently a new predicted release date for OData4 connector on basis of JSON (not XML)? It would enable us to use Invantive Cloud with 75 connectors (Yuki, Twinfield, Exact Online) against all Qlik instances.
The OData Connector is now updated with support for v4 and JSON response messages. The updated connector was made available in Qlik Sense SaaS in February, and in the Qlik Web Connectors standalone release on March 5, 2022.
Is there any other documentation or sample script? The OData 4 JSON part seems hard to use, even with knowledge of OData 4.
I want to connect the Invantive Bridge Online of Invantive Cloud to Qlik. It offers OData 4 in JSON-format using the Microsoft OData stack, with Basic authentication and data in streaming format. $filter supported, but no $expand and paging by design.
Hi @monty24, please find an example on how to use the updated OData Connector extracting JSON-formatted data in this knowledge base article. It is just a basic use case, but hopefully it provides some guidance for you.
I can see this quickly becoming quite complex, so please don't hesitate letting me know any feedback you may have on how to improve. It is already slightly different in Qlik Sense SaaS, and we are hoping to find ways to simplify and improve in future releases.
