Option to Gather Stats on Oracle Target after a Full Load of Table

Attachments

Within Qlik Replicate add an option for Gathering Stats on a table after a full load is issued (either the initial load or reload).  Issuing a truncate command clears the table statistics making the use of the table non-performant.  Normal database maintenance functions manage the incremental processing but there is a delay between full loads and the maintenance procedures.  Having the tool perform the Gather Stats would close that gap and keep the database performance within expectations.

A good place to add this setting would be in the Task Settings, Full Load Settings.

Thank you for the good suggestion.

For now, the recommendation would be to use the "task settings" option to stop the task after full load completes, initiate the statistics manually, and then resume the task right after.

We will continue to collect feedback from others and consider adding this as a built-in option within task settings in a future release.

Thanks!

Shelley,

The issue with this manual work around is this a production environment and due to a separation of duties, developers do not have the rights to initiate the gather stats on the database.  Wrapping this in a procedure is an option but it is reliant on a developer to "remember" they need to initiate.  By wrapping this in the process, we ensure compliance and the performance of tables replicated with replicate.

Thanks,

Troy
