It has been confirmed with Qlik that the OnDemand button only supports Windows NTLM authentication, that is when a user logs in to Qlik Sense via Windows, the OnDemand button then logs the user into NPrinting via Windows and the reports get generated immediately.

However, when a user is logged in to Qlik Sense via SAML authentication in Qlik Sense and NPrinting, The OnDemand button does not automatically authenticate the user into NPrinting and the report is not generated. This  is where the problem is and this feature / process does not exist in the OnDemand button functionality yet.

We are also using SAML auth so we are not able to use on demand, it time to fix this Qlik. Windows Auth is by far not the standard anymore

Very interesting. QS claim it support not only NTML authentication but also SAML, JWT...However when we use QS Nprinting On-demand report, it says I just support users who access to QS via NTML. NTML authentication is not a standard method but on demand report is the key feature of Nprinting. We strongly suggest Qlik fix this ASAP.

@Andrew_Kruger  We are also using SSO with multiple client and it our Client requirement to setup NPrinting on-Demand with SSO. Do you have any update on this?

Is Qlik going to fix this issue?

Hi,

To complete Zareh_T's comment, Qalyptus allows you to use SSO authentication.

Now, Qalyptus offers a new authentication method: JWT. The user is authenticated in the background without being asked to take any action and is not redirected to the IDP for authentication.
