Reference line on combo charts

It would be great if you include the possibility to add reference lines on combo charts in both axis, primary and secondary. Some related issues are:

  1. Define reference lines, and be able to choose the axis to show them.
  2. Define grid lines depending on the primary or secondary axis

Thank you,

Thank you for your feedback on ways to improve our product. The combo chart will be enhanced in the coming releases, reference lines will hopefully make it during 2020.

Thanks,

Patric

A customer asked me if he can create a chart like this . It´s a complex combo chart with stacked bars, a line showing the total amount on each Year and in the bottom a measure showing the variance over each year.

My answer was no. We can do this using the standard charts. It will require an extension maybe.

By the way , this chart was created with Tableau based on a mock up created in Excel. So the result was very close.

We need more options to customize the charts.

The combo chart will be improved but it will be hard to cover all possible chart variants while maintaining ease of use for the casual user. A tip is to use the map chart for "impossible"/"infographic"  charts, here's an example from my next collection of viz tips:

Here are some properties from Qlikview Charts that  I miss and help me to customize the chart:

- Values Labels on Axis

- Offsets

- Measures as invisible so they can support creation of complex calculations.

- Layers to overlap multiple charts using transparent background

Here is an example created with Qlikview using these functionalities.

I've created a stacked bar chart and a line chart over it using a transparent background.
