Clarification Required on Deprecated TBox Connection – End of Support Timeline

Hi Talend Support Team,

We noticed in the Talend documentation that the TBox connection is marked as deprecated. Could you please provide clarification on the following points:

1. What is the end-of-support or end-of-life (EOL) date for the TBox connection?

2. Will the TBox connection be removed from Talend Studio in any upcoming versions?

3. Is there a recommended replacement or alternative connection we should migrate to?

4. Will existing jobs using TBox continue to work until the official EOL date?

This information will help us plan our migration and avoid any impact on existing integrations.

Hello,

The tBoxConnection component and associated Box family components (such as tBoxGet, tBoxPut, etc.) are marked as deprecated in Talend Studio. According to the official component documentation, this means the component is retained for backward compatibility but is not recommended for new use and may be removed in a future release.

For reference, the Box component list shows both the deprecated components and the newer Box v2 components in the Talend components catalog: tBoxv2Connection, tBoxv2Get, tBoxv2Put, etc.

A newer Box connector, tBoxv2Connection, is available and should be used instead of tBoxConnection. This newer component provides updated authentication options and is the recommended approach going forward.

Best practice:
Plan to migrate jobs that use deprecated Box components to the Box v2 components to ensure compatibility with future Talend releases.
