Export a service fails, even though the log file says build success

Hi all,

New to Talend and ESB and am having a few teething issues.

I have created a new service and with it a new WSDL. I have then created a new job for this service. When I am testing within the Studio, my job works great - but if I want to export this service (to a .kar) file I am running into issues. I get an error "Service was not built successfully, please check the log for details". When I check the log it says "Build Success".

One potentially notable issue is that when I select "Import WSDL Schemas" (as was indicated in the Getting Started Guide), i don't get an error, but I also don't get anything in the Metadata > File xml section

More info on my Service...

I am wanting to expose a REST API on one of my existing services. My job consists of the following components:

tRESTRequest --- tExtractJSONFields --- tJavaRow --- tRESTClient --- tXMLMap --- tRESTResponse

The idea being that the user can make a request to:

GET http://my.esb/services/something

and this will essentially proxy the request to

GET http://my.service/something

I suppose my questions are...

  1. Why would I get this error when exporting
  2. Is my approach correct?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Matt,

This is quite tricky to identify the issue from what you have given us. I know this will be a pain, but could you take a few screenshots of the process you are taking to do this. A shot for each step of the process, maybe include the log and a screenshot of the job/wsdl config. I suspect that this might reveal the problem, however if it does not do you have a support contract? If you do, support may be able to hold a session with you so that they can follow step by step what you are doing

Regards

Richard
