The installation instructions can be found at the following link: http://doc.talend.com/metadata_manager/ReadMe/MIMMReadme.html You can look specifically at the sections 5 and 6. Assuming you are looking at doing a local install for evaluation / tutorial execution, I suggest you install using the bundled PostgreSQL database.
