tteradatarow component

Dear All,

I am using tteradata component for
insert into table (value1,value2,) sel * from table
is this a good practice as my project demands insert into sel * from querry in the job
so i have simply put the entire querry inside tteradatarow component of talend and ran it , and its giving me proper output

please let me know if this is doing push down ? as it is faster

Best regards
Amit

This is a very common way. But keep in mind, you do not have any control over what happens in this transfer but of course it is the fastest way.

I am not sure but if the teradata tpt util is not installed the component does not fail.
Check if the utility is correctly installed.

The component expects the
tbuild

program in the path. The current version also does not die if something is wrong with the generated script.
Please do following:
Connect a tTerdataTPTUltility with a Run If trigger with a tDie component.

Spend the tDie a meaningful message like (assuming the component unique name is tTeradataTPTUtility_1 - otherwise adjust the number)

"Load failed with exitcode: " + ((Integer)globalMap.get("tTeradataTPTUtility_1_EXIT_VALUE"))

This way you will see if the process it self works correctly. If this works you should check the log files or log tables.
