Hierarchy in a database BOM with Qlik Sense

Hi,

i have a BOM that only stores 3 important columns: father, child and qty.

I'd like to obtain this two features with Qlik sense server:

- for a given code obtain the very first father or fathers if it is in more than one BOM
- for a given code obtain the "summary explosion" so all the codes under it with the right total quantity

Hi Lucke, 

thanks for reply. I've been looking for a solution for many months, without success. Before writing this post I read many threads and documents, including those you have attached.

Despite this I cannot find a solution, I can't apply the theory at the practice. So I was hoping that a new discussion with a practice example could help me to understand the way to solve the problem.
