Hi Everyone,
We have a following requirement. there are the following fields are available in every table
| Groups | Brand | Product |
| Group1 | Samsung | Tab |
| Group1 | HP | Mobile |
| Group1 | Apple | Laptop |
| Group1 | Lenova | Tab |
| Group2 | Samsung | Mobile |
| Group2 | HP | Laptop |
| Group2 | Realmi | Tab |
| Group2 | Lenova | Mobile |
| Group3 | Samsung | Laptop |
| Group3 | HP | Tab |
| Group3 | Realmi | Mobile |
| Group3 | Lenova | Laptop |
we have connected every table by the combination of Groups&'-'&Brand&'-'&Product and we were using filters Group, Brand & Product.
Here requirement is Group should be always enable. If the user selects brand Apple then in the Group filter Group1 only is getting appear(because it is available in Group 1 only) but our requirement is rest of the Group2 & Group 3 should also appear to select.
User should always select Group 1st and later he have to select brand.
for example if user selects Brand Apple then it will be in Group 1 and later if user want to select Lenova in Group 3 then User selecting Lenova and selecting Group3. but actually user should select Group 1st then later brand Lenova should be select. but as of now user is currently in Apple under Group 1 and rest of groups were disable but it should enable.
Finally following hierarchy should follow Group --> Brand --> Product
Can this will be achievable. Could some one please help to resolve this issue
Thanks,
Satya
When you make selections in filter panes, the colors of the values change accordingly. The characteristic Qlik Sense colors are green, white, and gray, and they represent the basic states: selected, possible, and excluded.
The whole point behind color coding is to bring you additional information. Green indicates what has been selected, white indicates the values that are possible to select, and gray indicates the values that have not been included in your selection. In particular, the gray values can bring you new information about relationships that were not known before.
More details can be found from Selection states .
Qlik Sense mark the selection with different color is based on the field value availability on top of the data model. This can gives the user clear ideas what data inside the apps and what is the relation. This also allows to show all values in the filter pane and the user can make a different selection even from the selection value with grey color.
So in your case, all values from GROUP field still show even the selection for "Brand" is only having "Apple" selected. It is just with "Group1" with white color and others are with grey color in "GROUP" field.
Hi Lisa,
Thanks for responding on this. I agree with your comments but here all the values in group should be in white color even Apple brand is selected in Group 1.
We have to do irrespective of field selection from Brand to Group. So that what ever the brand got selected then all the groups will get appear
Thanks,

Hi @SatyaPaleti ,
For the selection, there is no order which means the user can make the selection from any filter pane at the first. Then all other filter panes will immediately display the values with different color. So for instance, when you select "Apple" from "Brand" filter pane, then "Group" filter pane will has "Group1" with white color(possible value but unselected), "Group2" and "Group3" with dark grey(excluded value). This is follow the data relation based on the data model.
If you still want to have "Group2" and "Group3" with the same white color, that gives the user a message these two groups also has the "Apple" brand. This is actually incorrect data relation.
Qlik Sense works based on the data relation in the data model. So there won't be a way to achieve that requirement. The best advice is to educate the end user how the values display in the filter pane after making the selection.
