Failed to allocate a QlikView Engine in QV 9.0.7502.8

There are around 40 Jobs failed with the same error. This is happening in random days.

Error received from QVS is as follows:

The task "FileName- refresh and publish" failed. Part of the log file follows:

1/28/2012 6:45:47 PM Error Failed to allocate a QlikView Engine.
1/28/2012 6:45:47 PM Error No QlikView Engine was available after waiting for 45 minutes
1/28/2012 6:45:47 PM Error Reload failed because the document could not be opened successfully. DocumentState=CouldNotGetSlot
1/28/2012 6:45:47 PM Error Reload failed. Distribution skipped.
1/28/2012 6:45:47 PM Error The task "FileName- refresh and publish" failed. ErrorCount=4

Here our QVS configurations as follows

     QVS Configuration:

     Version : QV 9.0.7502.8 SR5

     Max seconds at zero CPU usage: 1800

     Max number of simultaneous QlikView engines for distribution: 8

     Max number of simultaneous QlikView engines for administration: 8

Serger Details:

     2x E5504 Xeon quad-core 2 GHZ

     24 GB of RAM

     2 processors - 8 cores all togather

Can you guys help me to come out of this issue

You had more than 8 tasks running at a time.

You could increase the 45 minutes timeout for processes to wait for an available engine. You should also check if there are any QVB process left hanged and kill them if there are.

I think Daniel is asking you to change paramete in QVDistributionService.exe.config file located in C:\Program Files\QlikView\Distribution Service folder. Parameter is QvbWaitTimeoutMinutes.
